Our oldest daughter, Cara and her husband Steve were expecting their first baby on August 5, 2012. Cara would be induced on the 13th if she did not have her by then. She went to her Doctor's appointment on August 9th to be checked. Her Blood Pressure was up a little and initially her Doctor told her he would wait to induce her on the 13th, but he then called back and he said he would induce her on the 10th. The evening of the 9th she started having contractions that continued to get stronger until they decided to go to the hospital around midnight or so. Steve gave us a call around 1:30 am to let us know that they were @ the hospital. I (Cheri) told him to call us when the baby was born and then hung up. I laid back down and tried to get back to sleep but couldn't, so I got into the car and drove up and was at the Riverton Hospital @ 2:00 am. They were surprised that I came because I didn't let them know I was coming. Cara had her epidural and was resting really well. The labor progressed quickly and I thought she would have the baby by 7:00 am, but the labor stopped and she needed to put onto Pitocin. The nurse would come in and check about every hour which dragged on for a couple more hours. She finally was able to start pushing and that was where I was going to make my exit, per Cara's instructions. As I was getting my things together, Steve asked Cara, "Don't you want your mom to stay" and she said Yes! She pushed for awhile and then rested and was getting close enough to have the nurse call the Doctor. Doctor Hutchison took enough time to get there that the nurse told Cara to stop pushing. Doctor "Hutch" came strolling in saying he was delayed because he stopped to get food at In-n-Out. Cara said "You better not of" and they laughed. She liked her Doctor. She was born shortly after. Ella Jean Reese was born @ 12:00 on 8-10-12 and weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz. and was 19 inches long with a ton of Cara red colored hair, so cute!
